Details
Come hang out with us and listen to some awesome literature from fantastic artists every SECOND and FOURTH Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. at Manuel's Tavern (602 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30307).
IF YOU DECIDE TO BRING SOMETHING FOR CRITIQUE
Bring a piece to read aloud that is 2,000 words long (about 4 single-spaced pages) or less. We are an open group that is willing to critique anything from a haiku to an epic fantasy novel excerpt, so don't be shy about bringing that term paper, that tricky scene in your screenplay, or those graphic novel panels.
If you would like us to give you written feedback, please bring printed copies of your piece and we will read along with you and take notes directly on the copies. Ten copies is usually enough, but when it isn't, people can pair up and share copies as needed.
WHERE WE MEET INSIDE MANUEL'S TAVERN
You can find us in the "Eagle's Nest" in the south-west corner of the restaurant (the Williams Mill Road side). If you're coming into the restaurant from the front (Highland Avenue), take a left as soon as you enter, go up the few steps into the dining area, turn right, and we'll be behind that big red curtain on the other end of the dining area.
If you're coming into the restaurant from the back (tiny parking lot), pass through the second set of doors, take an immediate right, and we'll be behind the big red curtain on your right.
If you still find yourself getting lost, just ask a server or bartender where the "writers group" is meeting or the "Eagle's Nest" is and they'll be able to direct you.
We can't wait to meet you and read your work!
